Enzo Millot Set for Al Ahli Medical as Stuttgart Exit Nears
Enzo Millot is about to join Al Ahli. He’s having a medical exam, and Stuttgart will get more than €28 million for their French midfielder. Al Ahli have officially signed French midfielder Enzo Millot from VfB Stuttgart.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Enzo Millot missed Stuttgart training today because he flew to Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli for his medical. Al Ahli made a deal with Stuttgart and the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, beating big European teams. Millot featured in 43 matches for VfB Stuttgart, scoring 12 goals and providing 8 assists in the 2024-25 campaign, including a star role in their DFB Pokal final win.
WHY THIS MOVE MATTERS
Millot’s move is a big deal for Al Ahli, who outbid Atletico Madrid and Tottenham. Club manager Matthias Jaissle played a key role in convincing Millot to join them in their exciting project. The transfer is another step as major Saudi clubs keep attracting top talents from Europe. Stuttgart will receive at least €28 million, much more than Millot’s €18 million release clause, which didn’t apply to clubs outside Europe. According to reports, he moved to Saudi Arabia instead of Atlético Madrid or Tottenham Hotspur.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR CLUBS AND PLAYERS?
Stuttgart needs to find someone to take Millot’s place as he was their main creative force last season. Stuttgart finished the Bundesliga season in 7th place, narrowly missing out on European qualification but came out as winners of the German Cup. The club is looking for new midfielders after missing out on Greek playmaker Giannis Konstantelias. Al Ahli will integrate Millot quickly as they fight at the top of the Saudi Pro League and prepare for Asian Champions League matches. Their next league game is against Al Ettifaq, with both teams on the same points for third place.
