Everton Sign Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich for €12m
Everton have signed 19-year-old left-back Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich. The deal is worth €9 million plus €3 million in add-ons. The Moroccan international joins the Premier League team to strengthen their defense for the new season. According to reports, this transfer ends his two-year stay at Bayern Munich.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Adam Aznou signed a four-year contract with Everton, keeping him at the club until 2029. The young defender came from Bayern Munich, making only two Bundesliga appearances after joining from Barcelona’s La Masia academy. Last season, Aznou impressed on loan at Real Valladolid, playing 13 LaLiga matches and starting 10. Internationally, he has three caps for Morocco.
WHY THIS TRANSFER MATTERS
Everton acted quickly to sign Aznou for competition with Vitaliy Mykolenko after Ashley Young left this summer. Aznou is Everton’s fourth signing this window, following Carlos Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, and Mark Travers. Everton finished middle of the table in the last Premier League season, but seemed closer to fight for relegation than for the european spots. Manager David Moyes emphasized the need to improve squad depth for a better 2025/26 campaign.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR EVERTON AND AZNOU?
Adam Aznou aims to impress in Everton’s preseason matches against West Ham United, Manchester United, and Roma. The Toffees start their Premier League season on August 17 at home against newly-promoted Leeds United. Leeds finished first in the Championship to secure promotion. Everton aim to climb the table and avoid another relegation battle. Aznou is expected to serve mainly as a backup early in the season but will compete for playing time as he adjusts to English football and David Moyes’s plans.
