Fede Valverde Admits Frustration with Recent Form at Real Madrid

Real Madrid’s vice-captain Fede Valverde has spoken about his recent struggles on the pitch, expressing his disappointment with his own performances. Despite this, the midfielder is determined to lead by example both on and off the field.

VALVERDE SPEAKS OUT ABOUT HIS FORM

Fede Valverde admitted: “I’m frustrated. I’m aware of how I’m playing. A player knows when he’s not doing things right on the pitch.” He went on to say, “I started well in this new project but now it’s been harder for me to feel comfortable. I’ll continue to give my all as captain, on and off it.” This honest reflection comes after a mixed run of form this season. Valverde, who was recently promoted to vice-captain following the departures of Luka Modrić and Lucas Vázquez, has played in all seven league matches so far, delivering three assists but failing to score a goal in LaLiga 2025/26.

REAL MADRID’S SEASON SO FAR

Real Madrid currently sit second in LaLiga after seven matches, having won six and lost one. They suffered their first loss of the La Liga season against Atletico de Madrid by 5-2, which has been a significant setback for the team as they face a challenging schedule in both La Liga and the Champions League according to reports. The team has scored 19 goals and conceded seven, making them strong contenders in the title race. Valverde, who is often praised for his energy and versatility, has primarily played as a midfielder this season, logging a total of 566 minutes across seven matches. Real Madrid trail leaders Barcelona by one point and are ahead of their next opponentns Villarreal by two points.

WHAT’S AHEAD FOR TEAM AND PLAYER

Real Madrid’s next fixture is against Villarreal, who are currently third in the table. Villarreal are just two points behind Madrid, making the match crucial for both teams’ title ambitions. For Valverde, it is another opportunity to regain his top form and contribute to the team’s success. With three assists so far, he will look to add to his tally and help Real Madrid close the gap at the top. The club relies on his leadership, especially as the team navigates a busy schedule with both LaLiga and Champions League commitments.
