Federico Gatti Signs New Five-Year Contract Extension with Juventus

Juventus have officially announced that Federico Gatti will remain at the club until June 2030 after the defender signed a new five-year deal with increased salary.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Federico Gatti has committed his future to Juventus by signing a contract extension that will keep him in Turin until 2030. The club confirmed the agreement, praising Gatti’s defensive qualities and the leadership he shows at the back.

Gatti, who joined Juventus from Frosinone in 2022, has now surpassed 100 appearances for the club and is seen as a key figure in their plans moving forward. The new deal also rewards him with a notable pay rise, reported at €3.1 million per year, with an option for an additional year until 2031.

Gatti’s impact last season

Gatti has grown into an important player for Juventus, especially after injuries to senior defenders last season. He featured in 46 matches across all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring six goals and registering one assist.

Defensively, Gatti made more interceptions (38) and as many blocks (30) as any Juventus player. He also helped the team achieve 12 clean sheets as Juventus finished fourth in Serie A, securing Champions League football in the last matchday of the league, ahead of AS Roma.

Looking ahead for Juventus and Gatti

Juventus will kick off their 2025-26 Serie A season at home against Parma on August 24. The club is hoping to build on last season’s fourth-place finish and push for the title. Parma finished 12th last season and will be challenging to improve.

Gatti’s continued presence strengthens Juventus’s back line, and his leadership will be vital as the team aims to close the gap to the top. Juventus remain three points behind Inter and are set to defend their position from close rivals Roma in their opening matches of the new campaign.
