Fenerbahçe Reach Agreement to Sign Senegalese Prodigy Amara Diouf
Fenerbahçe have agreed to sign 16-year-old Amara Diouf. The Senegalese winger is one of the top young players in Africa. The Turkish club sees this as a big win because many top European clubs wanted Diouf as well. This is their first signing before the new season begins.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Amara Diouf trained at Senegal’s famous Generation Foot academy. Now, he is going to Fenerbahçe for a medical check-up. Then, he will sign a long-term contract. Big clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea wanted him. But Fenerbahçe were fast in making a deal with Generation Foot. Diouf is now in Istanbul to sign. The club has not announced the signing or deal details yet.
WHO IS AMARA DIOUF?
Diouf became famous when he captained Senegal’s U-17 team. He led them to win the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations and scored the most goals in the tournament. He is quick with the ball, can dribble well, and is good at scoring goals. At only 15, he has already played for Senegal’s senior team and is seen as the next Sadio Mané in Senegal.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR FENERBAHÇE?
By signing Diouf, Fenerbahçe show they want to focus on young talent. They finished second in the 2024/25 Süper Lig season, just behind Galatasaray. They will soon start preparing for both the league and the Champions League qualifiers. Their next official game is in July for Champions League qualification. They want to catch up with their rivals. Adding Diouf to the team could make their attack stronger for the next season.
