Francesco Camarda Set for Lecce Loan Move with Buy-Back Option for AC Milan

Francesco Camarda is close to joining Lecce on loan from AC Milan. The deal includes a buy option for Lecce and a buy-back option for Milan. This gives both clubs control over the teenager’s future.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Lecce is about to sign 17-year-old striker Francesco Camarda from AC Milan on loan for the 2025-26 season. Lecce will have the option to buy him permanently. However, Milan will include a buy-back clause, allowing them to regain control of Camarda’s career if he performs well in Serie A this year. Reports suggest Lecce has moved ahead of Pisa and Udinese in the race to sign Camarda.

HOW BOTH CLUBS AND THE PLAYER ARRIVE THIS SUMMER

Camarda had a mixed 2024-25 season, splitting time between AC Milan’s first team and youth side. He made his Serie A debut against Cagliari and played as a substitute in the final match against Monza. He spent much of the second half of the season on the bench. Milan recently extended his contract until June 2028 and increased his salary, showing their belief in his potential. Lecce finished 17th in Serie A, narrowly avoiding relegation. They struggled to score goals after selling Nikola Krstovic and are now searching for attacking reinforcements.

WHAT NEXT?

Once the deal is finalized, Camarda is expected to play a key role for Lecce’s attack as they try to improve. For Milan, the buy-back option allows them to watch Camarda’s progress and potentially bring him back if he excels. Lecce’s season starts with an important match against Empoli, making Camarda’s early performances crucial. Milan, under new coach Massimiliano Allegri, will closely monitor the young striker as they aim to improve from their eighth-place finish last year.
