Fulham Seal Club-Record Signing Of Brazilian Winger Kevin From Shakhtar Donetsk

Fulham have agreed to sign Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk for a record €40 million, plus €5 million in add-ons. The player has agreed to terms as well. Sporting CP made a last-minute attempt to sign him, but the Brazilian winger will wear Fulham’s shirt this season. Fulham have reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee worth up to €50 million, which could become their biggest transfer ever, surpassing the previous record set last year.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Fulham have quickly completed the signing of Kevin. Kevin joins the club from Shakhtar Donetsk, and negotiations went all through the summer. The deal takes Emile Smith Rowe’s €34 million arrival last year to become Fulham’s biggest transfer, as it is now confirmed that they have reached a verbal agreement with Shakhtar for Kevin Macedo worth up to €50 million.

Kevin, who has played with Brazil’s under-20 squad, only moved to Shakhtar from Palmeiras in 2024. Sporting CP made a late attempt to sign him, but Kevin chose Fulham.

WHAT WILL KEVIN BRING TO FULHAM?

It was a quiet summer at Craven Cottage, with Fulham adding only 34-year-old goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte while losing Andreas Pereira and Carlos Vinícius. They are now signing Kevin, one of the best emerging wingers in Europe, who adds pace and creativity to the team. Kevin is a 22-year-old winger who scored 17 goals and made 10 assists in 57 games for Shakhtar last season, showcasing his potential to address Fulham’s attacking needs.

Fulham sit in 13th after a slow start to the season under Marco Silva, whose sacking has been discussed. They finished last season in 11th as well, but while they were clear of relegation, they were also far from the European places.

Signing Kevin straight away for a starting role, Fulham hope to improve the team’s offensive output. The team scored only 43 Premier League goals last season, placing them 12th among the competition.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR FULHAM?

Fulham have a tough task as they visit Leeds United in the Premier League. Leeds are ahead of them having won one match this season already. Fulham have had a mixed start this year, but they aim for European qualification after finishing mid-table in the Premier League last season.

Kevin will be hoping to jump into the first team as soon as possible. Kevin’s debut, therefore, could take place the following weekend if he joins right after the weekend.
