Gabriel Strefezza Signs for Olympiacos in €8M Transfer From Como

Gabriel Strefezza has joined Olympiacos after the Greek club agreed on an €8 million deal with Como. The Brazilian winger is expected to travel soon to finalize his personal terms and take a medical test in London before joining his new teammates in the Netherlands for pre-season training.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In late July, Olympiacos and Como agreed on the transfer of 28-year-old Gabriel Strefezza. The transfer fee is confirmed to be €8 million, as reported earlier by various sources. Strefezza wanted to move even though Como wanted to keep him. The chance to play in the UEFA Champions League for the first time was a significant factor for him. He signed a four-year contract worth around €1.3 million per season. He will go to London for his medical check-up and then join Olympiacos in pre-season training in Holland. Olympiacos have officially reached an agreement to sign him.

GABRIEL STREFEZZA’S RISE

Strefezza, who plays as a right winger, has spent most of his career in Italy. He became known at Lecce after helping them get promoted to Serie A. He also played for SPAL, Juve Stabia, Cremonese, and Como. Last season, he helped Como stay in Serie A, finishing 10th in the league, in the middle of the table. Strefezza finished the 2024/25 season with 6 goals and 5 assists in 34 league matches, showcasing his attacking capabilities in wide positions.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR OLYMPIACOS AND COMO

Olympiacos, the Greek Super League champions, have made their squad stronger as they prepare for another Champions League campaign. The team finished 16 points ahead of Panathinaikos to win the Super League last season. Strefezza’s arrival will add to their attacking options before their next league campaign starts against Asteras Trioplis, with Olympiacos aiming to defend their domestic crown. For Como, Strefezza’s departure will be a blow as they try to build on their Serie A return, having finished 10th last season as they aim for European spots this season. They must now look for a replacement for one of their brightest talents.
