Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s Agent Confirms Inter Milan Stay Amid Turkish Transfer Rumors
Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğlu will not join Fenerbahçe. This is according to his agent Gordon Stipic, who has spoken publicly amid stories claiming that the Turkey international could return to Turkish football.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The race for Çalhanoğlu and his apparent keenness to leave is a big twist in the January transfer window. Inter made it clear they were not willing to sell the 32-year-old despite a lucrative bid from Fenerbahçe. Reports indicate that Inter Milan have not received any official bid for Hakan Çalhanoğlu from Galatasaray or Fenerbahçe at this time. Additionally, Inter reportedly wants in excess of €30 million to start negotiations over the player and consider his exit.
INTER’S SEASON AND CALHANOGLU’S IMPACT
Despite his lack of game time, Çalhanoğlu is an important member of Christian Chivu’s first-team at Inter. He signed a new contract in March, running until the summer of 2027. The Galatasaray youth product has made 47 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, scoring eleven goals and providing eight assists.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR INTER AND ÇALHANOĞLU?
Inter play Torino next on the opening day of their Serie A match at San Siro. Çalhanoğlu is expected to be assigned a key role. If he leaves, Inter boss Christian Chivu might have to alter his plans for the rest of the campaign.
