Bayern Munich director Christoph Freund has dismissed talk about Harry Kane’s future. Kane finally ended his trophy drought by winning the Bundesliga title.

CLUB COMMITMENT

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has denied rumors about Harry Kane leaving this summer. “That’s not even a topic,” Freund told German media when asked about the England captain’s potential departure. This statement comes just days after Bayern secured their 2024-25 Bundesliga title.

SEASON BREAKTHROUGH

Kane’s move to Bayern in 2023 initially backfired as the club finished third in his debut campaign – their worst Bundesliga position in over a decade. However, the 31-year-old striker has now lifted his first major trophy, though his exact 2024-25 goal totals remain unspecified. His 44-goal debut season so far for Bayern showcased his importance to the team and with still a few matches left in the season.

CONTRACT DYNAMICS

While Kane appears committed to Bayern’s project, reports indicate his release clause could drop significantly by January 2026. This adds intrigue to long-term plans, though the club’s immediate focus remains on building around their record-breaking striker following the Bundesliga success. This comes as Kane’s age keeps on increasing, and Bayern do not currently have a long-term replacement for the striker. Bayern will aim to turn domestic dominance into Champions League progress next season.
