Hellas Verona Secure Permanent Signing of Amin Sarr from Lyon

Hellas Verona have signed striker Amin Sarr from Olympique Lyon permanently. The Swedish forward has a contract until June 2029 after spending last season on loan with Verona.

According to a previous report, Lyon has been relegated to Ligue 2.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Verona completed the transfer for €3.5 million, with all documents finalized. Sarr was on loan at Verona during the 2024/25 season and now joins the club permanently. His new four-year deal offers Verona a long-term attacking option.

WHY THIS MOVE MATTERS

During his loan with Verona last season, 23-year-old Sarr made a significant impact. Verona finished the 2024/25 season in 14th place, six points clear of the relegation zone. Sarr scored six goals and made two assists in 31 appearances, helping the club secure crucial points. His performances convinced Verona’s management to sign him permanently.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR VERONA AND SARR?

With pre-season underway, Sarr is expected to lead the attacking line as Verona prepares for the 2025/26 Serie A campaign. Verona’s first league match is against Udinese, who will compete for similar goals as Hellas in this new Serie A season. The club hopes Sarr’s continued presence and growing partnership with the midfield will push them closer to the top 10. For Sarr, the permanent move offers stability and a chance to become a central figure for Verona over the next four years.
