Hellas Verona Signs Amin Sarr in €3.5m Transfer

Hellas Verona has bought Swedish striker Amin Sarr for €3.5 million from Olympique Lyon. The 24-year-old signed a long-term contract, staying at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi until June 2029.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Hellas Verona made Amin Sarr‘s loan permanent by using the buy option in his contract. The club paid €3.5 million, less than the original €5 million option, to keep him. Sarr’s contract will last until June 2029, giving Verona security in their forward line for future seasons.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sarr’s move to Hellas Verona is another step in his career. After joining Lyon in 2022-2023 for €11 million, he struggled to perform well in France. This led to loans at Wolfsburg in Germany and now Hellas Verona, where he’s doing better. His performances have impressed Verona, who decided to invest and make him a permanent member of their squad.

SARR’S JOURNEY

Sarr has played in many European leagues recently. After his move to Lyon didn’t go as planned, he was loaned to Wolfsburg before joining Hellas Verona in August 2024. In Serie A this season, Sarr has helped Verona. They are currently 12th with 43 points, six points behind ninth-placed Lazio and eight points clear of the relegation zone with three games left.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR HELLAS VERONA?

With Sarr secured, Hellas Verona can plan for the future with him as part of their long-term plans. The team will face Bologna at home this weekend in Serie A. Then, they will visit Lecce and play their final home game against Atalanta as they aim to finish the season strongly. Signing Sarr early allows Verona to focus on improving other areas of their team during the summer as they prepare for the 2025-2026 season.
