Hoffenheim Secure New Deal For Young Star David Mokwa

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim have agreed to a contract extension with David Mokwa, keeping him with the club until June 2029.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Hoffenheim have moved quickly to secure the long-term future of Mokwa, their brightest young talent. The club extended Mokwa’s contract, which was due to end next summer, in a show of faith following his strong performances with Hoffenheim II in the Regionalliga Südwest. The new deal confirms Mokwa will stay at the club for at least four more years, with his development continuing apace as he aims for a Bundesliga breakthrough in the near future.

DAVID MOKWA’S PROGRESS THIS SEASON

Mokwa joined Hoffenheim from Sochaux in 2022 and delivered standout performances for Hoffenheim II in the Regionalliga Südwest this season. The 21-year-old striker scored 11 goals and provided five assists in just 19 appearances, averaging a goal every 129 minutes on the field. His rise has caught the attention of the coaches, leading to his promotion to the second team, and he is now on the verge of a debut in the Bundesliga.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR HOFFENHEIM AND MOKWA?

Hoffenheim, who finished 15th in the league table, face Bayer Leverkusen in their next Bundesliga fixture following the summer break. Hoffenheim finished 16th in the Bundesliga last season, narrowly avoiding relegation. Can Mokwa break into the senior team and play a part in a strong finish this season?
