Inter Want to Talk to Cesc Fabregas, but Como Won’t Let Them

Inter Milan want to hire Cesc Fabregas as their new coach. However, his current team, Como, will not let them talk to him. Inter are trying to talk to Fabregas, while Como refuse to let him go.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Inter lost heavily to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. After that, Simone Inzaghi resigned as their head coach. The club quickly started chasing Fabregas as their ideal replacement. Director Piero Ausilio travelled to London to meet the Spanish coach. However, Como are unwilling to let him go and said they are not willing to entertain any offers. Como’s president even said that Fabregas is central to their plans and is not for sale this summer.

COMO AND INTER’S CURRENT SITUATION

Fabregas led Como to a fantastic 10th-place finish in their first season back in Serie A. He not only coached the side but also motivated them. The former Barcelona man is also a shareholder in the club, making his commitment even stronger. Inter, meanwhile, finished behind Napoli in Serie A and lost 5-0 to PSG in the Champions League final. They now face a challenging period, as they need to find their next manager quickly. Inter’s next match is against Monterrey in the Club World Cup, which is just a week away.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR INTER AND FABREGAS?

Inter will continue to negotiate with Fabregas, but Como may make it difficult. As per reports, the former Arsenal star has been offered a lucrative package but is happy to continue at Como. Inter, however, hope their ambitious project will lure the Spaniard. They need a new head coach soon, with only a week remaining for the Club World Cup.
