Inzaghi Takes Over at Al Hilal After Leaving Inter Milan

Simone Inzaghi is now the head coach of Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal. He has signed a contract until June 2027. The Italian manager left Inter Milan after a successful four years with the Serie A club.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The 49-year-old Inzaghi has signed a two-year contract with Al Hilal, with an option for a third year based on team performance. He will receive a signing bonus of €4m to €5m. Agents Federico Pastorello, Tommaso Inzaghi, and Luca Bascherini helped finalize the transfer behind the scenes.

Inzaghi leaves Inter Milan after winning six trophies and reaching the Champions League Final twice in four years. He had one year left on his contract with Inter, but the club agreed to release him. His exit follows Inter’s recent heavy defeat, capping an otherwise successful spell.

Inzaghi doesn’t have much time to adjust. He will debut in the FIFA Club World Cup against Real Madrid on June 14. Al Hilal will also face FC Salzburg and Pachuca, providing Inzaghi an early chance to display his tactics on the international stage.

Football Italia states that Inzaghi will travel to the United States shortly. Meanwhile, a representative from Al Hilal is in Milan to complete the transfer paperwork. Inzaghi had hinted at the move, saying: “My future? We will see in the next days. I will meet with the club and we will assess the situation together.”
