Ipswich Town Try To Stop Ivan Azón’s Loan Move To Valencia

Ipswich Town have made a late move to stop Ivan Azón’s loan transfer to Valencia. Ipswich’s late approach has disrupted Valencia’s plans, as they have been in advanced talks to sign Azón on loan.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Valencia have been working for days to secure Iván Azón on loan from Como until June 2026, with Valencia covering his salary during the loan period. Azón is also keen to join Los Che, but new developments have left his deal uncertain. Ipswich Town, from the English Championship, have contacted Como and hope to convince the Italian club and the player to change plans at the last minute. Azón has also received an offer from Dinamo Zagreb and some interest from other European clubs. His future is still uncertain.

AZÓN’S SEASON SO FAR AND TEAM SITUATIONS

Azón showed tremendous potential when he scored twice on his debut for Como soon after arriving. But his position at the club has become uncertain following Alvaro Morata’s arrival from Atletico Madrid this summer. Morata is now Como’s first-choice striker. On the other hand, Valencia are extremely shorthanded up front, with Hugo Duro their only available striker. Ipswich, meanwhile, are desperate to bolster their frontline after losing Liam Delap to Chelsea recently.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE PLAYER AND CLUBS?

With several options available, Azón and Como must now decide what suits them best. Valencia remain ahead in the race to sign Azón, but Ipswich’s offer could change things overnight. Both clubs start their season next week and are desperate to finalise their squads on time. Only time will tell which option Azón chooses.
