Iván Alejo Set to Join Real Valladolid on Two-Year Deal

Iván Alejo is about to sign a new two-year contract with Real Valladolid. The winger is leaving APOEL, with both teams agreeing on his transfer. Alejo is now ready for a fresh start in Spain.

According to a previous report, Raúl Moro has transferred from Real Valladolid to Ajax.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The 30-year-old winger grew up in Valladolid and is leaving APOEL to sign with Real Valladolid for two seasons. Last season, Alejo was on loan at APOEL after playing for Cádiz for several years. Now, he is ready to return to Spain and help Valladolid, where he played as a teenager. The deal is done, and Alejo is on his way for a medical check and official signing.

ALEJO’S RECENT FORM AND VALLADOLID’S SEASON

Last season, Alejo played in 20 games, provided 1 assist, and clocked 997 minutes on the field. Although known for his hard work at Cádiz, his offensive numbers were not impressive, having no goals and 1 assist in the 2024/25 season. Valladolid finished La Liga on the last spot and were the first team to be relegated and is trying hard to return to the top division.

The club is focused on improving the squad for promotion. Their opening match of the 2025/26 Segunda División season is against Real Oviedo, who had a mid-table finish last season. Valladolid needs a solid start to catch promoted teams and fend off close competitors Eibar and Elche.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR VALLADOLID AND ALEJO?

Alejo’s experience in top-flight and second-tier Spanish football is expected to improve Valladolid’s attack as they aim for promotion. The club is eager to get him involved quickly, hoping for immediate contributions in the upcoming matches. Valladolid’s fans will be watching to see if Alejo can help the club return to La Liga and provide the offensive skill needed to compete against their main rivals this season.
