Iván Azón Joins Ipswich Town on Loan for 2025/26 Season

Spanish striker Iván Azón has joined Ipswich Town on loan from Como 1907 for the 2025/26 season, as confirmed by recent reports.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The two clubs reached an agreement after earlier talks broke down. Azón had been linked to Getafe, but Ipswich renewed their interest and sealed the deal on August 28. He will arrive in England soon to complete the paperwork and start training with his new team. This move offers the striker a fresh start, as he previously moved to Como in January but had limited playtime under manager Cesc Fàbregas.

BIG CHALLENGE FOR IPSWICH

Last season, Ipswich Town finished in the middle of the Championship table. They are now working on strengthening their team to challenge for playoff spots in the 2025/26 campaign. Scoring was a problem for Ipswich, with their top scorer managing only 12 goals last season. Azón, despite his youth, is expected to add depth and strength to their attack. He scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 32 Serie A matches last season, showcasing his potential to find the net consistently.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Azón is expected to be introduced at Portman Road soon and could play in Ipswich’s next match against Birmingham City. Ipswich are currently 11th, just three points behind sixth-placed Blackburn, while Birmingham are 17th. With a tight race for playoff spots, Ipswich will hope Azón can quickly make a difference and help the team move up the table, especially as they aim to avoid relegation and push for promotion this season.
