Jamie Bynoe-Gittens Completes Chelsea Medical After £55m Move
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is nearing the completion of his £55 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea after completing his medical at his new club.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Bynoe-Gittens has completed the main segment of his medical at Chelsea, moving closer to sealing his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old winger will join the Premier League side in a deal worth £55m as Chelsea secure their first marquee signing of the January transfer window. Bynoe-Gittens arrived in London on Monday and has undergone a smooth medical so far, with the final medical check-up set to occur on Tuesday morning.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Chelsea acted swiftly to get their solution in attack after losing Leon Bailey and Raheem Sterling to injuries while also sending Callum Hudson-Odoi and Omari Hutchinson out on loan this month. The Blues finished fourth the Premier League table, and will now play the Club World Cup quarter-finals against Palmeiras in Enzo Maresca’s second season in charge of the london club.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR CHELSEA?
Bynoe-Gittens will soon be seen posing with his new club colours and is fully fit to immediately slot into Maresca’s matchday squad. Chelsea will face Palmeiras in the middle of next week before starting the new Premier League season in 6 weeks time.
