Jarell Quansah set for Bayer Leverkusen medical as Liverpool confirm buy-back clause

Jarell Quansah is ready to complete his move to Bayer Leverkusen, with a medical booked for Monday and a buy-back clause in place to allow Liverpool to re-sign him for at least £60 million in the future.

TRANSFER DETAILS CONFIRMED

Liverpool have agreed to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for an initial £30 million, plus £5 million in bonuses. Quansah will have his medical in Leverkusen on Monday. The deal also includes a buy-back clause for Liverpool, which could reach up to £70 million depending on certain conditions.

PLAYER AND TEAM PERFORMANCE

Quansah is a 22-year-old central defender and product of Liverpool’s academy. This season, he played in 25 matches for Liverpool but did not score or assist any goals. His market value is estimated at €20 million. Bayer Leverkusen had a strong campaign last season, finishing in the top positions of the Bundesliga and now look to strengthen their defense further after the departure of Jonathan Tah.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE FUTURE

Quansah’s move gives Liverpool significant funds and retains a future stake in his development through the buy-back clause. For Leverkusen, he is viewed as a key replacement for Tah and a long-term solution at center-back. The next step is Quansah’s official unveiling and quick integration into Bayer’s squad as they prepare for the new Bundesliga season.
