Jens Cajuste Close to Ipswich Town Return in Loan Deal from Napoli
Jens Cajuste is about to return to Ipswich Town. The club is close to a deal with Napoli for a loan move that could become permanent if Ipswich wins promotion. Reports indicate that Ipswich Town and Napoli have agreed on a deal for Cajuste to return on loan.
AGREEMENT NEAR FOR CAJUSTE TRANSFER
Negotiations between Ipswich Town and Napoli have led to a deal for Swedish midfielder Jens Cajuste. The clubs have agreed on a £2 million loan fee, with a buy option clause set at £7.5 million should Ipswich secure Premier League promotion. Cajuste, who played for Ipswich last season on loan, is open to another spell at Portman Road, although some details remain to be ironed out before a transfer is completed.
WHY IPSWICH WANTS CAJUSTE BACK
Cajuste spent last season with Ipswich, providing experienced cover in midfield as they took their Championship challenge down to the final day of the season. The 25-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Napoli, recording just two assists from 35 appearances in all competitions, which include only 16 starts. He has also been wanted by clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia but favours a return to familiar surroundings in Suffolk. Ipswich are expected to challenge for promotion again in 2024-25 and have already signed a number of players to help Kieran McKenna’s side in their bid, including former Real Madrid striker Hisaki Ishii.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR IPSWICH TOWN AND CAJUSTE?
Ipswich return to Championship action the following weekend with a trip to Rotherham, and it is believed he will be ready to play a role, should he complete a transfer back to Portman Road.
