Jorgen Strand Larsen Commits Future to Wolves with New Contract Until 2029
Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has signed a new long-term deal, making his move from Celta Vigo permanent and tying him to the club until June 2029.
According to a previous report, Wolves have completed a deal to make Strand Larsen‘s move permanent.
STRAND LARSEN’S BREAKOUT SEASON
The 25-year-old Norwegian striker joined Wolves last season on loan from Celta Vigo and quickly established himself as a key player. He scored 14 goals in 35 Premier League appearances, setting a new club record for the most goals by a Wolves debutant in the top flight, surpassing Raul Jimenez’s 13-goal mark in the 2018/19 season. His contributions were vital after Vitor Pereira took over as manager, with eight goals coming under the new coach—including a remarkable run of seven in eight matches during the crucial final months of the campaign. Four of those goals came in a six-match winning streak, which played a significant role in steering Wolves away from relegation danger and securing a 16th-place finish, but 17 points ahead of the last relegated team in the 2024/25 season.
Wolves finished the 2024-25 Premier League season in 16th place.
IMPACT ON THE TEAM AND FUTURE AMBITIONS
Strand Larsen’s ability to adapt quickly to the Premier League and consistently find the net helped Wolves overcome a difficult start that saw them in 19th place when Gary O’Neil was replaced as manager. The new contract reflects the club’s confidence in his role as a central figure in their attacking plans. Strand Larsen finished the season with a shot conversion rate of 25.9%, one of the best in the division, and became the first Wolves player to score in four consecutive league victories. With manager Vitor Pereira now set for his first full pre-season with the squad, the team hopes to build on their strong finish and aim higher in the table next year.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR WOLVES AND STRAND LARSEN
Wolves will begin preparations for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign hoping to carry their late-season momentum into the new term. They open their season against Manchester City who were 3rd last season and have just been knocked out from the Club World Cup by Al Hilal. With other teams around them also strengthening, every point will be critical. Strand Larsen, having secured his future at Molineux, will be expected to lead the line once again and further cement his reputation as one of the Premier League’s most reliable strikers.
