Jude Bellingham Faces Three-Month Spell Out After Successful Shoulder Surgery

Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham has had shoulder surgery in London. He will likely be out for up to three months. The midfielder will miss the start of the 2025/26 season and important matches.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Bellingham has had shoulder problems since November 2023, injuring it against Rayo Vallecano. He played over 100 games despite pain, using a special brace. As it worsened, surgery became necessary. The operation was a success, but he will be out for around three months. A return is expected by late October or early November.

REAL MADRID’S CHALLENGES WITHOUT BELLINGHAM

Real Madrid starts the season on August 16, but Bellingham will be absent. He might miss 8-12 league games, including El Clásico against Barcelona. He will also miss the first four Champions League group matches. His absence follows Real Madrid’s tough end to last season, where they finished second in La Liga and have since being beaten 4-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-finals. The squad needs others to step up, and manager Xabi Alonso will likely adjust tactics without Bellingham.

LOOKING AHEAD: RETURN TIMELINE & KEY FIXTURES

Bellingham might return in late October or November. This will be after the first international breaks, possibly during important Champions League games. While he is out, Real Madrid faces tough matches. These include games against top teams. They want to close the gap on LaLiga rivals and will need squad depth early on. Fans and management hope he recovers fully and returns to a key role later this season.
