Julián Álvarez is having a great season with Atlético Madrid. He now has 30 goals this season after scoring two penalties in Atlético’s 4-2 win over Real Valladolid.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Atlético Madrid played against Real Valladolid in the 31st match of the 2024/25 LaLiga season. Real Valladolid scored first, but Álvarez helped Atlético come back. He scored two penalties, and Giuliano Simeone and Alexander Sorloth also scored for Atlético. Álvarez now has 25 goals and 5 assists in 47 matches in all competitions. Atlético Madrid is in second place in LaLiga, trying to catch Real Madrid in first place.

Since joining from Manchester City last summer, Álvarez has become an important player for Atlético Madrid. He has scored 12 goals in 30 LaLiga matches. His goals have been very important as Atlético tries to win titles this season. They are close to Real Madrid in the standings, and the two teams are fighting for the title this season. But Real Valladolid is in last place and could be relegated if things don’t get better soon.
