Juventus Close to Signing Jonathan David as Free Agent

Juventus are about to sign Canadian striker Jonathan David. The player and club have agreed on key contract details. Talks are still ongoing, but it looks likely that David will soon join the Serie A team as a free agent.

According to a previous report, Lille expects to sell Jonathan David.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Jonathan David ended his contract with Lille and chose Juventus over other big European clubs. Reports say Juventus have reached a deal for a five-year contract. He will earn €6 million each year. While the main terms are finalized, they are still discussing agent fees. Both sides hope to agree soon so David can join Juventus before the 2025/26 season pre-season.

JUVENTUS’ ATTACKING PLANS AND TEAM SITUATION

Juventus are planning to change their attack this summer. They finished fourth in Serie A this season, 12 points behind Inter. David is set to bring his goal-scoring skills to the club after scoring 24 goals and creating six assists in Ligue 1 last season. Despite considering selling Dusan Vlahovic, the forward has indicated he does not plan to leave the club until his contract expires in 2026, which adds complications.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR JUVENTUS AND DAVID?

Juventus hope to sort out the remaining agent fee issues by the end of this week, as they aim to finalize David’s signing soon. They want him to join their pre-season preparations in time. After crashing out of the Club World Cup with a 1-0 loss to Real Madrid, Juventus may have a few days off before starting their preparations for their Serie A opener against Parma.

According to a previous report, Juventus have secured a spot in the knockout stages of the FIFA Club World Cup.
