Juventus Sign Pierre Kalulu from AC Milan

Juventus have completed the signing of defender Pierre Kalulu from AC Milan. They used the €14 million option in his loan deal. The French defender played well this season, convincing Juventus to keep him long-term.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Juventus have made Pierre Kalulu‘s move from AC Milan permanent for €14 million and possible €3 million in bonuses. The clubs have signed the needed paperwork. Kalulu first joined Juventus last August on a one-year loan for €3.3 million, with Juventus paying his salary through the 2024-25 season.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Kalulu’s transfer isn’t surprising after his great performances for Juventus this season. He can play both center back and full-back and soon became important to the team. His versatility made him very valuable, and he earned the full trust of the coaching staff.

Juventus are in the top four of Serie A, trying to clinch Champions League play for next season. They changed managers recently, bringing in Igor Tudor to replace Thiago Motta, hoping to boost their Champions League push.

WHAT NEXT FOR JUVENTUS?

With Kalulu’s future settled, Juventus focus on their remaining games to finish the season strong and make the Champions League. The deal includes a 10% sell-on clause for AC Milan if Juventus sell Kalulu in the future.

Kalulu’s signing is part of Juventus’s plan for sustainability and competitiveness. At 24, he has his best years ahead and could be a key defender for Juventus for many seasons.
