Kingsley Coman Joins Al Nassr, Starts New Chapter After Bayern Munich Success

Kingsley Coman has joined Al Nassr. He is excited about the move and looking forward to the club’s plans. Coman is leaving Bayern Munich after ten years to play in the Saudi Pro League.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Coman has signed a three-year contract with Al Nassr, earning between €20-25 million per year. Bayern Munich sold him for around €25 million, with bonuses possibly reaching €30 million. He will play with stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix. Coman spent ten years in Munich, winning nine Bundesliga titles, a Champions League, and a Club World Cup. He scored the winning goal in the 2020 Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain. Al Nassr is rebuilding this summer and wants to be strong in Saudi and Asian football. Coman said, “I’m so happy to join Al Nassr, I trusted this project and I can’t wait to get started.”

WHY COMAN LEFT BAYERN MUNICH

Coman was a key player at Bayern Munich, but injuries limited him to 24 league games last season. He scored nine goals and provided six assists over 45 matches. Bayern finished as winners in the Bundesliga, with 13 points distance to 2nd placed Bayer Leverkusen. They exited the Champions League in the quarter-finals. As the club made squad and management changes, Coman wanted a new opportunity. He was drawn to Al Nassr’s ambition and strong team. Now, the French international looks to bring his experience and winning mindset to the Saudi Pro League.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR AL NASSR AND COMAN?

Al Nassr placed third in the previous season’s Saudi Pro League, 13 points behind Al Ittihad. They want to win the title this season. Their next match is against Al Ahli, who are third and two points behind. Coman’s addition is seen as strengthening the squad significantly. The club also competes in the AFC Champions League, aiming to improve on last year’s semi-final run. Al Nassr aims to attract top European talent to bolster their chances of claiming the Saudi Pro League title. Coman will need to quickly adapt to the new league and help Al Nassr chase silverware both domestically and continentally.
