Kingsley Coman Set to Leave Bayern Munich This Summer

Kingsley Coman is likely to leave Bayern Munich in the next transfer window. Several clubs in Europe and the Middle East are interested. The French winger’s time at the club seems to be ending after not playing much this season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Bayern Munich are ready to let Kingsley Coman go this summer. He still has two years left on his contract until 2027. The 29-year-old winger earns €17 million a year but has started only 11 Bundesliga games this season under manager Vincent Kompany. Although he has a good relationship with the coach, Bayern are willing to sell him. They want to get money for new signings.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Coman’s likely exit is drawing interest from several top clubs. Barcelona, coached by former Bayern manager Hansi Flick, are keeping an eye on him. Arsenal are reportedly ahead in the race among Premier League clubs and are in talks with Coman’s representatives. Liverpool are also interested, adding competition for Arsenal.

Coman has scored six goals and provided four assists despite limited game time. Bayern Munich value him at around €30-40 million. This is a reasonable price for a player with so much experience. Before the 2023-24 season, Coman won a league title every year in his career. This includes two Ligue 1 titles with PSG, two Serie A titles with Juventus, and eight Bundesliga titles with Bayern.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR COMAN?

With the summer transfer window coming, Coman has a big decision to make. Saudi Pro League clubs are interested but reports say his wife may not want to move there. He is more likely to move to the Premier League. Arsenal are currently in the lead, but Tottenham are also potential buyers.

Bayern Munich are second in the Bundesliga, four points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund with three games left. They have secured a spot in the Champions League and will face RB Leipzig next. This could be an important match to decide whether they challenge for the title or settle for second place.
