The 20-year-old midfielder spoke with United this week and told them he wanted to leave. Mainoo is not keen on a permanent exit but only desires a loan move. As per reports, clubs from England, Spain, and Italy are interested, including Napoli and Real Madrid. However, United have denied Mainoo’s request, emphasizing that they value him highly.

MAINOO’S SEASON AND UNITED’S PLANS

Mainoo broke into the senior team last season and made 29 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and assisting three more. However, he has featured just one time this season, in the Carabao Cup against fouth tier’s Grimsby Town. According to recent updates, Mainoo crucially believes that a temporary switch is essential for his development.

When Mainoo made it clear to United that he wanted to leave, they reiterated his importance to Ruben Amorim’s squad. However, with the games not happening as promised, the club may end up accepting a loan offer unless Mainoo is handed a more definite role in the plans.
