Ladislav Krejci to Join Wolves in €35 Million Deal

Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed to sign Ladislav Krejci from Girona for about €35 million, as confirmed by recent reports. The defender can now travel and have his medical check before joining the Premier League team.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Twenty-six-year-old Czech center-back Krejci will be Wolves‘ sixth summer signing. After hesitating recently, Krejci decided and said goodbye to Girona teammates. Reports indicate agreement by all parties, with Wolves paying €35 million, well above Krejci’s market value. He will complete his move and be ready for Wolves’ next Premier League game against Everton, as confirmed by reports.

WOLVES’ SEASON SO FAR

Wolves have struggled in their Premier League start, losing to Manchester City and Bournemouth. Their weak defense makes Krejci’s signing crucial. They look to avoid a third straight defeat against Everton. With Wolves and Everton both sitting low in the table, Wolves need points to leave the relegation zone. Captain Toti Gomes should remain, but Krejci may join the starting lineup to strengthen the defense. Wolves are eager to improve this season after finishing 16th last season, and Krejci could be a pivotal addition to help achieve that.

WHAT CHANGES FOR GIRONA?

Girona lose a vital defender from their squad, which has struggled in the 2024–25 La Liga season. Krejci started against Villarreal recently, and losing him is tough as they try to improve. Girona must find a quick replacement to stabilize their defense and rise in La Liga. Meanwhile, Krejci will have to adapt quickly to English football’s pace and intensity as Wolves need him to make a quick impact and change their game.
