Liverpool Secure Signing of Milos Kerkez in £40 Million Deal

Liverpool have completed the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. The left-back has passed his medical and signed all the documents. An official club announcement is expected soon. Kerkez joins Liverpool’s squad for the 2025/26 season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Milos Kerkez, a promising left-back from Bournemouth, has joined Liverpool for £40 million. Kerkez passed his medical and formalities between both clubs were completed on Tuesday. The transfer is Liverpool’s third major signing of the summer. The club is strengthening their squad after winning the Premier League title last season.

According to a previous report we published, Liverpool recently signed Kerkez for £40m, marking their third major signing of the summer.

WHY LIVERPOOL MOVED FOR KERKEZ

Kerkez was one of Bournemouth’s standout players thanks to his energy, defensive skills and attacking contributions. The 21-year-old is viewed as a long-term replacement for Andrew Robertson. Robertson has been one of Liverpool’s most important defenders in recent years, but showed signs of decline last season. Kerkez’s performances for Hungary at international level also caught the eye of top European clubs. Liverpool’s decision to invest heavily in Kerkez shows their intent to refresh and future-proof their squad as they fight to win another league title.

According to a previous report we published, Kerkez is expected to compete with Robertson for a first-team spot.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR LIVERPOOL AND KERKEZ?

Kerkez will join Liverpool’s pre-season preparations before their Community Shield clash against Crystal Palace. The Reds finished ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City to win the Premier League title last season. Their next league match will be against Bournemouth for the Premier League’s first matchday. Robertson could face competition from Kerkez for a starting role.
