Manchester United scored a last-minute equalizer to draw 1-1 with Bournemouth on Sunday. Rasmus Højlund’s goal saved United from defeat at the Vitality Stadium.

What Happened?

Bournemouth took the lead after Antoine Semenyo scored midway through the first half. The game had a few incidents, including a challenge by Tyler Adams that led to a VAR check for a red card. He was only shown a yellow. Despite conceding, United created chances and forced Bournemouth goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga into several saves. However, United leveled deep into stoppage time, with Højlund finding the net after a deflection fell to him in the box.

Who Stood Out?

Several players were in contention for Man of the Match. Luke Shaw was back in the starting XI for the first time since March and impressed at left-back, assisting the equalizer. Alejandro Garnacho also did well, testing Arrizabalaga with a key first-half save. However, it was Højlund who stole the show with his late heroics and received many votes for the award from the club’s supporters.

What’s Next?

The draw leaves United 13 points behind the top five, with six games left. United face Athletic Club in the Europa League semi-final first leg this midweek before their league game against Arsenal. Meanwhile, Bournemouth remain 10th, a point behind Chelsea in sixth. Their next league game is against Everton.
