Marcus Rashford Set for Manchester United Exit Talks
Marcus Rashford is ready to talk about his future. He knows he is not in Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim’s plans for the coming season.
According to a previous report, Marcus Rashford is ready to leave Manchester United this summer.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Rashford is 27 years old. Last season, he was on loan at Aston Villa, where he scored eight goals and provided three assists in 27 Premier League matches.
A previous report confirmed his performance during the loan.
Now, he is set to leave Manchester United for good. He returned to Manchester for pre-season but hardly spoke to Amorim. Amorim does not see him as part of his plans.
Manchester United want £40 million for Rashford. Several clubs are interested, but Barcelona is especially keen. However, they prefer a loan deal for now. Bayern Munich and other European clubs are also interested.
WHY ARE UNITED AND RASHFORD PARTING WAYS?
Manchester United are undergoing significant changes under Amorim after another challenging campaign. United finished fifteenth in the Premier League for the 2024–25 season.
According to a previous report, they missed out on Champions League football.
Rashford had a mixed year. He impressed during his loan spell at Aston Villa, but fell out of favor in Manchester due to a lack of regular playing time and a distant relationship with the new manager.
He is determined to secure regular game time elsewhere to keep his place in the England squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Formal talks will begin next week to determine Rashford’s next club. Barcelona are set to open negotiations with United. Rashford will join United’s pre-season squad on Monday. United face their first pre-season friendly against Celtic next Saturday.
Barcelona finished first in La Liga last season and are hoping to add a couple more pieces to their squad. Both teams are looking to improve on last season’s results. United will open their season against Arsenal, in a match that can set the tone for the rest of the season, whereas Barcelona open the La Liga campaign against Mallorca as they try to keep the title with them.
Manchester United seek a new beginning and are ready for Marcus Rashford to leave this summer, according to a previous report.
Rashford’s future could be decided before the Premier League campaign kicks off next month.
