Mbappé Makes History With 40th Goal For Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappé has scored 40 goals in his first season at Real Madrid. No one else has done this in the club’s long history.

RECORD-BREAKING DEBUT SEASON

Mbappé scored in Real Madrid‘s 2-1 win over Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday. This came after Mallorca’s Martin Valjent scored first in the 11th minute. Real won with Jacobo Ramon‘s 95th-minute winner, his first goal for the club, keeping their title hopes alive.

Mbappé has broken records with 40 goals in his debut season. No new player at Real has done this before, not even Cristiano Ronaldo. Mbappé’s 40 goals include 26 in La Liga. The rest are in other competitions.

TITLE RACE IMPLICATIONS

Madrid’s win on Wednesday was important in the title race, stopping Barcelona from being champions. Even though Real Madrid won, they are unlikely to win the title unless Barcelona drops points in their last three matches.

Madrid’s never-give-up attitude saw them win late against Mallorca, with young Jacobo Ramon scoring a crucial goal in the final minutes. Madrid’s fighting spirit, combined with Mbappé’s goals, has been their strength this season.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR MBAPPÉ?

Mbappé can add to his goal tally, with three games left this season. He will be focusing on helping his side win all of them, and rooting for Barcelona to slip up in the title race.

Beyond this season, the French forward has already established himself as the focal point of Madrid’s attack. His historic debut campaign has justified the club’s major investment and heralded the dawn of a new era at the Santiago Bernabéu with Mbappé as its torch-bearer.
