Mehdi Taremi Set To Sign For Olympiacos After Arrival In Athens

Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi has arrived in Athens and is ready to join Olympiacos. He is moving from Inter Milan for €2.5 million.

TRANSFER DETAILS UNVEILED

Taremi, 33, will sign a two-year contract with Olympiacos. He struggled to play regularly at Inter in his one season in Italy, as he was not included in Inter Milan‘s squad for their first Serie A game against Torino. Olympiacos and Inter Milan agreed to a €2.5 million transfer fee. They are checking the final documents before the official announcement. Taremi joins Olympiacos with experience and goal-scoring ability from clubs in Portugal and Italy.

THE IMPACT ON OLYMPIACOS AND INTER

Olympiacos finished as winners of the Greek Super League last year, 16 points ahead of Panathinaikos, and will play in the UEFA Europa League this year. Taremi will join a team that scored 67 goals in the league last season but lacked a consistent striker. His arrival is timely, as Olympiacos prepares to face Aris Thessaloniki next. They are only two points ahead of AEK as the new season begins. For Inter, selling Taremi will help balance the squad and finances. It will give more chances to younger forwards and recent signings.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM TAREMI AT OLYMPIACOS

Taremi’s record is impressive. He scored over 20 goals with Porto in consecutive seasons and made an impact in European competitions. Last season at Inter, he scored only 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 24 appearances, mostly as a substitute. At Olympiacos, he will likely start regularly and play a key role in attack. Fans expect him to score the goals needed for a title challenge and a deeper Europa League run. All eyes will be on his debut, possibly in the next league match. Olympiacos aim to close the gap with PAOK, and Taremi could be the key addition for their ambitions.
