Mile Svilar Set for New Roma Contract Until 2030

Roma and goalkeeper Mile Svilar have agreed on a new contract that will keep him at the club until June 2030. The 25-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire in 2027. After a successful season as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper, he is expected to sign the new contract later this week.

According to a previous report, Mile Svilar‘s new contract with AS Roma includes a 3.5 million euro yearly salary and performance-related bonuses.

WHAT HAPPENED?

After weeks of negotiations, Roma have agreed to new terms with Svilar. They have met his wage demands and confirmed his place as a vital player for the club’s future. According to various reports, the contract will be signed on Friday, July 11, 2025. Svilar became Roma’s first-choice goalkeeper last season, making 38 Serie A appearances, keeping 16 clean sheets, and conceding just 35 goals. This impressive form solidified Roma’s defense and convinced the club to secure his long-term future. They have even rejected recent transfer offers for the Belgian international.

As noted in a previous report, AS Roma and Mile Svilar have agreed on a new contract extending until June 2030.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Roma are determined to build a competitive team under new coach Gian Piero Gasperini, with Svilar seen as a key part of that plan. Despite finishing 5th in the 2024-25 Serie A season and narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification 1 point behind Juventus, Roma’s defense was one of the league’s best. Keeping Svilar shows stability as he continues to develop after joining from Benfica in 2022. The new contract, reportedly worth over €3 million net per season with bonuses, reflects the club’s trust in the young goalkeeper.

According to a previous report, AS Roma finished the 2024/25 season with a top-five finish and Champions League qualification.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Now that his future is settled, Svilar will return to Roma for pre-season training ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Roma begin their Serie A season against Bologna, who finished slightly below them last season in 9th. Both teams are expected to compete for European spots again, having finished just seven points apart last season. Svilar will aim to build on his impressive performances and help Roma challenge for a top-four finish and a return to the Champions League.
