Morgan Gibbs-White Commits To Nottingham Forest With New Deal Until 2028

Morgan Gibbs-White has signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest. He has stopped any talk about a move and will stay at the City Ground until June 2028.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Gibbs-White‘s new contract came after a lot of talk about a move to Tottenham Hotspur. People said he had agreed to join Spurs. Some even claimed he was set for a medical check-up. However, Nottingham Forest were unhappy about Tottenham’s actions and wanted to take legal action. In the end, Gibbs-White stayed at Forest. He signed a new three-year contract and said no to a move to Spurs. The club announced the deal late on Saturday. It ended a huge transfer story that got a lot of attention this summer.

IMPACT FOR NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Gibbs-White joined Nottingham Forest in 2022 and has been fantastic since then. He played in all but two Premier League games last season, scoring seven goals and providing 10 assists in 34 games. Forest finished 7th, qualifying for the Conference League. Gibbs-White is now one of their top players. The manager calls him a leader, and the fans love him. Keeping Gibbs-White is massive for Forest, especially after losing Anthony Elanga this summer. The midfielder strengthens the squad in the Europa League after Forest finished seventh last season.

WHAT NEXT FOR GIBBS-WHITE AND FOREST?

Now that his future is secure, Gibbs-White will be ready for the new Premier League season. Forest start their campaign against Brentford, who finished mid-table last season and have lost essential players and coaching staff in their squad. They will also prepare for the Conference League group stage, which begins in September. The new contract shows that Forest will fight to keep their best players and aim for higher targets in the future. Meanwhile, Tottenham will need to move quickly to find an alternative to Gibbs-White. As it stands, they are still in the race for a top-four finish at the end of the season.
