Myron Boadu Set for PSV Medical as Transfer from Monaco Nears Completion
Myron Boadu is close to joining PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch club has reached an agreement with AS Monaco. Boadu will have a medical exam on Friday, completing his return to the Eredivisie.
WHAT HAPPENED
PSV wants Boadu, 24, to strengthen their attack. This need arose after Pléa was injured. PSV and Monaco have now agreed on all terms. Boadu’s travel to the Netherlands has been arranged, and he is expected to sign with PSV as soon as he completes his medical.
Boadu was known for his work at AZ Alkmaar. He has had mixed spells at AS Monaco, with loans to Twente and VfL Bochum. He returns to the Eredivisie to strengthen a PSV team looking for title action.
PSV’S SEASON SO FAR
PSV Eindhoven is once again competing at the summit of the Eredivisie. Currently, PSV sits second, level on points with leaders NEC after 3 games. They have scored 12 goals and only allowed 3, showing a strong start but facing pressure from both above and below, with the club only 2 points ahead of third-placed Ajax. With Alassane Pléa recently injured, the demand for a new striker became urgent. Their next match is against 16th placed Telstar, who only have one point won in three matches so far. A win keeps PSV within distance of Feyenoord and widens the gap with Ajax further behind. PSV Eindhoven are aiming to keep their Eredivisie title after a strong season last year, having finished as winners in the league last season.
BOADU’S FORM AND WHAT’S NEXT
Boadu returns to the Eredivisie after scoring 14 goals with AZ last season. He scored three goals in 18 games for Monaco last season before being loaned out for regular game time. PSV hopes he can rediscover his best form in a familiar setting. If the medical goes as planned, Boadu should be ready for PSV’s upcoming games, starting with the all-important Telstar clash this upcoming weekend. Boadu will be under immediate pressure to adapt and deliver goals as PSV pursues the Eredivisie title and prepares for difficult UEFA Champions League group-stage matches.
