Napoli Open Talks with Torino for Vanja Milinković-Savić in €18m Move

Napoli have started talks with Torino to sign Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić. They want to secure the transfer quickly because clubs like Manchester United are also interested. Napoli hope to agree on an €18 million deal before other teams can step in.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Today, Napoli and Torino discussed the possible transfer of Vanja Milinković-Savić. Napoli are keen to strengthen their team, and they see the 27-year-old as an ideal choice. Torino are open to offers, and Napoli wish to close the agreement for €18 million. Meanwhile, Manchester United and other clubs have shown interest as well. The Serbian goalkeeper just finished a strong season with Torino. He is under contract until 2026 and played 39 Serie A games this season, conceding 44 goals and keeping 11 clean sheets.

WHY NAPOLI WANT MILINKOVIĆ-SAVIĆ

Napoli want Milinković-Savić because they are reviewing the future of their current goalkeeper Alex Meret. The club finished seventh in Serie A, failing to qualify for the Champions League, and struggled defensively all season. Napoli’s move for Milinković-Savić matches new head coach Antonio Conte’s plans to rebuild and strengthen the defense. Meanwhile, Torino ended the season ninth, only four points behind Napoli, with Milinković-Savić’s performances playing a big role in their finish.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR NAPOLI AND MILINKOVIĆ-SAVIĆ?

Napoli’s management are determined to secure the transfer before other clubs, especially Manchester United, make a formal approach. Both clubs will carefully monitor the release clause, as Milinković-Savić’s contract reportedly includes a clause for transfers within Serie A at €19 million and a higher fee if he moves abroad. Napoli’s next challenge is the opening game of the 2025/26 Serie A season. They aim to start strong under Conte’s leadership and hope Milinković-Savić will soon be their goalkeeper.
