Nathan Zézé Signs With NEOM SC For €20m As Club Targets More Talent

NEOM SC have signed 20-year-old defender Nathan Zézé for €20 million. They might also sign Monaco’s Saïmon Bouabré soon.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Nathan Zézé, who played for FC Nantes, has joined NEOM SC, a new Saudi Pro League team. NEOM SC paid €20 million plus bonuses, beating out interest from English teams. They also have a deal with Monaco to sign 18-year-old Saïmon Bouabré for €10 million, and talks with Bouabré are continuing.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR NEOM SC AND ZÉZÉ

NEOM SC have quickly signed defender Zézé for their first season in the top flight. Zézé helped Nantes narrowly avoid relegation last season with 31 Ligue 1 appearances. After securing promotion from the second tier, NEOM SC have added one of France’s promising talents to their squad. They also want to sign Bouabré from Monaco as they seek to add young attackers too.

LOOKING AHEAD: THE SEASON STARTS SOON

New-look NEOM SC face Al Taawoun, who finished 7th last season, in their Saudi Pro League opener. The team may need to stave off relegation in their first season but aim to have higher ambitions. With more signings potentially on the way and the resources required to strengthen, NEOM SC aims to compete with established teams in the Saudi Pro League, potentially challenging for major honors in the near future.
