However, he failed to impress and wasn’t in coach Igor Tudor’s future plans, as Juventus have indicated that he does not feature in Tudor’s strategy.

The transfer’s final step is La Liga’s approval for Nico’s registration, required for him to play in Spain this season. If the transfer is completed in time, Nico could be available for Atlético’s following La Liga match at home against Villarreal, who are top of the league along Barcelona and Real. After parting with Nico, Juventus will focus on reinvesting the funds in securing a replacement before the Serie A transfer deadline, aiming to close the gap to rivals Napoli and Inter this season.
