Nicolas Jackson Set To Join Bayern Munich On Loan From Chelsea

Nicolas Jackson is heading to Munich to join Bayern after both clubs agreed on a season-long loan. The move involves a record loan fee for Bayern, with the club set to pay €15 million, and might become permanent next summer with an option to buy for up to €80 million, as reported by us previously.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Bayern Munich moved quickly to sign Nicolas Jackson after the striker fell out of Chelsea’s plans. With Chelsea signing Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, Jackson was pushed down the order. Despite interest from Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Juventus, Bayern were the only club to meet Chelsea’s terms.

The loan fee of €15 million was confirmed, and Bayern also have the option to buy Jackson next summer. This rapid movement shows Bayern’s determination to strengthen their attacking options after a mixed start to the Bundesliga season.

Jackson has agreed to personal terms and is traveling to Munich to complete his medical and other formalities.

WHY DOES BAYERN WANT JACKSON?

Jackson joins Bayern after scoring 13 goals in 37 matches for Chelsea last season. According to reports, Bayern are looking to strengthen their attack as they are reliant on Harry Kane and lost important attackers this transfer window, despite winning their opener by 6-0 against RB Leipzig.

Their attack heavily relies on Harry Kane, but with rumors swirling about a potential move for Kane to the Premier League next summer, Bayern are planning ahead. If Kane were to leave or get injured, Jackson could become the main striker. His athleticism and direct style fit well into Bayern’s preferred playing system, adding much-needed depth and flexibility as they manage Bundesliga and Champions League commitments.

WHAT NEXT FOR JACKSON AND BOTH CLUBS?

The deal is expected to be officially announced within 24 hours. Jackson will join Bayern’s training and could debut in their next match against Augsburg, as Bayern need points to try and open a gap with teams below them. Meanwhile, Chelsea will focus on integrating their new signings and finalizing other deals before the transfer window closes.

If Jackson performs well at Bayern, the German club may use the option to buy, making the transfer permanent next summer and giving Chelsea a 25% share of any future sale.
