Noni Madueke Signs for Arsenal After Arteta’s Personal Touch

Arsenal have completed the £48 million signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea, with the potential for the deal to rise to £52 million with add-ons. Manager Mikel Arteta praised Madueke’s courage and eagerness to join his new club, as confirmed in a recent report.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Arsenal secured Madueke on a five-year deal after months of interest. The move was finalised quickly thanks to good rapport between the two clubs. Mikel Arteta spoke to the player during negotiations and the winger left a major impression on the manager with his desire to join. Arteta said: “I spoke to him [during the course] and he came and said: ‘I go for it, I cannot wait to put that shirt on and I cannot wait to play for you guys!’ When you have a conversation like that with a player at that age, when you ask the questions that you ask and they give you their excitement, what they feel and how they see things, you make up your mind even quicker and I think he was the best option for us and we are delighted to have him” , according to a recent update.

WHY ARSENAL PUSHED FOR MADUEKE

The 22-year-old’s arrival is considered as an investment for the future. The Gunners believe he can play on either wing and therefore provides cover for star winger Bukayo Saka. Madueke’s potential, pace and versatility were appealing, and Arsenal see him as a fantastic fit for Arteta’s playing style and long-term ambitions. Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season with 74 points and want to add more depth to contest the title race this term. Madueke bagged seven goals and six assists for Chelsea last season, as noted in a previous report, and is seen as a potential future star. His arrival has increased competition for spots in the line-up and will benefit the club.

LOOKING AHEAD: WHAT’S NEXT FOR ARSENAL AND MADUEKE?

Madueke has joined his new teammates in training and could be included in Arsenal’s squad for the game against Athletic Club before playing Manchester City at the Emirates on the weekend. The Gunners are currently third in the Premier League and are three points behind leaders Liverpool as they head into the frantic holiday period of the English season.
