Nottingham Forest in Talks to Sign Juventus Duo Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula
Nottingham Forest are negotiating a double signing of Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula from Juventus. Both their transfer fee and public terms have yet to be agreed upon.
WHAT IS THE LATEST?
Nottingham Forest and Serie A club Juventus are in discussions to sign both of their star wingers Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula. Forest have reportedly made an offer in the region of €22-€25 million for the duo but Juventus are holding out for the best possible deal. While Forest show strong interest in them, personal terms with the players have not yet been agreed upon.
According to a previous report we published, the deal amount is still being negotiated.
WHY THIS MOVE MATTERS
This deal comes in after Forest finished seventh in the Premier League to earn a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The club are preparing for a busy season ahead as they want to add depth to their squad. Both Weah and Mbangula are considered to be important additions as they want to add quality to their squad and compete on multiple fronts. Weah, 25, scored six goals and provided four assists in 43 appearances for Bianconeri last season. It is also understood that the players will not be part of Juve’s Manager Tudor as starting players next season.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Forest will continue to negotiate with Juventus regarding the transfer fees of both players while the agents will continue working on agreeing on personal terms with both players. Starting their campaign early, they have a difficult Premier League opener against Brentford, who have seen their manager, Thomas Frank, change teams to head Tottenham in the next season. Forest’s first Conference League match is set to take place in late July.
