Nottingham Forest Step Up Pursuit of Dan Ndoye After Bologna Reject Opening Bid

Nottingham Forest are determined to sign Swiss winger Dan Ndoye from Bologna. Their first offer was rejected, but they are preparing a new bid. The Premier League team have agreed on personal terms with Ndoye, but Bologna want to keep him.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Forest‘s first bid, reported around €30-€40 million, was turned down. Bologna value Ndoye at €50 million and want to keep him. Ndoye, 24, is ready to join Forest for five years. Bologna are trying to get him to sign a new contract. They don’t have to sell because his contract lasts until 2027. Forest see Ndoye as Anthony Elanga’s replacement, following Elanga’s move to Newcastle United for £55 million. Forest might make a better offer soon.

DAN NDOYE’S IMPACT AND FOREST’S AMBITIONS

Ndoye had a strong season at Bologna, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 41 matches. He also scored the winner in the Coppa Italia final, showing his skill in big games. Forest finished seventh in the Premier League last season and have qualified for the UEFA Conference League. They want to improve their attack for the new season. After losing Elanga, signing a wide player like Ndoye is a top focus for manager Nuno Espírito Santo.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR FOREST AND BOLOGNA?

Forest are thinking about their next move and may make a second bid soon. If Bologna can’t convince Ndoye to stay, they might lower their price. Forest are preparing for their first Premier League game against Brentford, who are undergoing big changes after losing their coach and key players to other Premier League rivals. They are also watching other players in case talks end. Bologna, who finished ninth in Serie A, want to keep their star player, having recently secured a Champions League spot after winning the Coppa Italia last season.
