Nottingham Forest Submit Bid for Bologna’s Dan Ndoye in Pursuit of Key Winger Signing

Nottingham Forest have made a decisive move in the transfer market by submitting their first official bid to Bologna for Swiss international Dan Ndoye, who is now their top target to strengthen the winger position.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The 24-year-old attacker has already agreed personal terms with Nottingham Forest and is open to joining the Premier League club. Forest’s offer marks the start of direct negotiations with Bologna over a potential transfer. Despite interest from Napoli and Crystal Palace, Ndoye has given the green light to Forest’s project. The winger is coming off an impressive spell, highlighted by his performances for Switzerland at Euro 2024, where he scored against Germany and showcased his ability to play in various attacking roles. Last season, he registered nine goals and six assists for Bologna, helping the Italian side achieve a strong campaign and win a historical Coppa Italia.

COMPETITION FOR HIS SIGNATURE

Nottingham Forest face stiff competition. Both Napoli and Crystal Palace are also keen on Dan Ndoye. According to a recent report, a transfer fee around €40 million is being discussed for Ndoye. By moving swiftly, Forest hope to outpace their rivals. Bologna will have the final say on the deal, as talks are expected to intensify in the coming days. Forest’s proactive approach shows their determination to upgrade their attacking options for the new Premier League season.

LOOKING AHEAD

Should Forest secure Ndoye, he would likely become a key figure in their first team for the new campaign. Forest finished last season in 7th place in the Premier League, and have since qualified for the Conference League this season. Their first match of the new season is against Brentford, who ended last year in the middle of the table and have since lost important pieces like head coach Thomas Frank to Tottenham, Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United and captain Norgaard to Arsenal. Adding Ndoye could boost Forest’s chances of improving their league position and solidifying their Premier League status. Bologna, on the other hand, may be forced to find a replacement quickly to maintain their momentum after winning the Coppa Italia last season.
