Noussair Mazraoui Ruled Out for Manchester United Until International Break

Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui won’t play until after the international break, says manager Rúben Amorim.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Mazraoui missed recent United training sessions due to an unknown injury. He had returned to play against Burnley off the bench and started against Manchester City and Chelsea. However, he was missing from training before the Brentford match. Amorim stated that Mazraoui will be out until the international break, so the team needs a new right wing-back. Diogo Dalot is back in training and expected to play, but Amad Diallo is also an option.

United next face 13th place Brentford on Saturday. The absence of Mazraoui will test United’s defensive depth as Dalot is expected to fill in. Moreover, United will travel to London to face Brentford next in a must-win game. Mazraoui, who has played in 60 games for United since joining last year from Bayern Munich, has been solid but not spectacular, with versatility in various defensive roles. He is expected to return during the international break and could be fit for United’s home game against Southampton after club matches resume, Amorim said.
