Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won the Best Team award at the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony for their outstanding season. The French club’s domestic success was recognized in Paris.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The awards ceremony was held inside the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris and PSG outclassed all major clubs to win the Best Team award. Luis Enrique’s team won the Ligue 1 title in the 2024-25 season and also had a memorable run in the UEFA Champions League. Ousmane Dembele’s role in PSG’s success was highlighted, which earned the France international the men’s Ballon d’Or award at the ceremony. This victory adds to PSG’s strong Ligue 1 start.
PSG’S SEASON IN NUMBERS
PSG won the Ligue 1 title in 2024-25, ending on top of the table with 78 points from 38 matches. Marseille finished second, behind the defending champions. Ousmane Dembele had an incredible campaign with PSG, scoring 20 goals and providing 10 assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances. He was involved in nine more goals in Europe, leading the team to the semi-final stage. In 2025-26, PSG are leading the Ligue 1 table again but level on points with Monaco, Lyon and Strasbourg. Recently, PSG confirmed that Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué will be out of action for several weeks due to serious injuries, which is a significant blow to PSG’s attacking strategy according to a recent update.
WHAT NEXT FOR PSG?
PSG will be back in action in Ligue 1 on Wednesday as they will take on Auxerre at home. They will then play Barcelona in a Champions League group-stage fixture on Tuesday. The club will now also focus on their weekend game against Auxerre in Ligue 1.
