Paris Saint-Germain Set to Secure Signings of Lucas Chevalier and Ilya Zabarnyi

Paris Saint-Germain are close to signing goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille and defender Ilya Zabarnyi. Both players want to join PSG.

WHAT HAPPENED?

After long talks, PSG are ready to add two new players. They are almost done signing Lucas Chevalier from Lille for €40 million, as reported. Ilya Zabarnyi’s transfer is also nearing completion. Both players are eager to join PSG this summer.

PSG’S SQUAD REBUILD TAKES SHAPE

Lucas Chevalier, 23, had a great season at Lille, making 13 clean sheets in 48 games. He will replace Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is talking to Manchester City. PSG also want to strengthen their defense with Ukraine defender Ilya Zabarnyi, and they are preparing to make a new offer for him with an estimated transfer fee of around €60 million, as noted. PSG are building a team to stay dominant in France and Europe. They won both Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League last season, marking a significant milestone for the club.

WHAT NEXT FOR PSG?

PSG hope to complete the transfers soon, as their new season starts soon. They play Nantes, who finished mid-table last season, in their Ligue 1 opener. With Lyon and Marseille improving their squads, PSG want to sign young and talented players to stay ahead. Lille will use the money from Chevalier’s transfer to rebuild their own team, aiming to return to the top three in Ligue 1.
