Psg Agree Personal Terms With Lille’s Lucas Chevalier As Donnarumma Future Remains Unclear

Paris Saint-Germain have agreed personal terms with Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, as ongoing contract renewal talks with Gianluigi Donnarumma have stalled.

Chevalier now emerges as PSG‘s top target.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Chevalier, 23, has agreed to a five-year contract with PSG. PSG are now negotiating with Lille over the transfer fee, with the northern club demanding around €40 million to release Chevalier.

This move comes as uncertainty persists around Donnarumma, whose contract ends in 2026 and who is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United, Chelsea and Galatasaray.

Meanwhile, Lille are preparing for Chevalier’s possible departure and have started looking for replacements.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Chevalier has developed into one of the outstanding goalkeepers of Ligue 1.

Last season, he made 34 league appearances and kept 11 clean sheets, helping Lille secure a top-four finish and qualify for the Champions League. Lille finished fourth in Ligue 1, just one point behind Monaco and only two clear of fifth-placed Rennes.

His performances earned him the Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year award for the 2024-25 season.

WHAT NEXT FOR CHEVALIER?

If the clubs can agree on a fee, Chevalier could become PSG’s first signing of the summer.

They finished top last season, 11 points clear of second-placed Monaco. Meanwhile, Lille must replace a key player before their Champions League qualifying campaign begins.

The outcome of these negotiations will also affect Donnarumma, whose future in Paris remains uncertain as talks over a new deal stall.
